Retrospective

Realize Your Creative Future.

On Saturday, August 6, 2022, Sound Future reintroduced their range of programming from the past and our plans for the future as we partnered with A Reason to Survive (ARTS) in National City for their Summer Jam – an afternoon of workshops, keynote speakers, panels and performances highlighting various creative careers.

The morning started with keynote speeches from musician and creative Geminelle Rollins, Chicana fashion designer Claudia Rodríguez-Biezunski, and multi-hyphenate creative Angie Chandler. People were able to become inspired by their words and prepare them to connect and network with some of San Diego County’s creative community!

During the Sound Future plenary, past Sound Future partipants shared their experience with the ARTS Summer Jam attendees. Parker Edison, Amanda Nelson, Ramel Wallace and Loren Garces revisited their experience and advice for youth to explore their creative futures. There was also a workshop with Lauren Garces and Blake Dye about event planning, performances from Kahlil Nash, Sound Collage and Dauché!

THE FUNCTION OF ART IS TO DO MORE THAN TELL IT LIKE IT IS- IT'S TO IMAGINE WHAT IS POSSIBLE.
