Allow us to reintroduce ourselves...

I'm thrilled to say we're bringing Sound Future back to ARTS in National City again on Saturday, February 23, 2019. Originally, envisioned as a one-day creative career fair, we’ve revamped and reimagined Sound Future as a series of workshops that will lead up to the creative career fair that we will plan with the engaged youth from our workshop series. This will give them real-world experience to see that creative careers are possible. Our goal is to show youth who come from neighborhoods similar to the one I grew up in, like my beloved Paradise Hills, that you can follow creative career paths.

WHO ARE WE?

Sound Future is a career expo that motivates youth in underserved communities to see that it is possible to have creative careers. They've shown attendees it takes more than the performer on the stage to have a good performance. It takes a community. You need technicians, managers, marketers, graphic designers, and more. The audience doesn’t realize how many roles it takes to pull off a great show - and each role is integral. How would a star shine without people setting the stage?

Since 2016, we've been connecting youth to creatives.

In the past, Sound Future gathered aspiring creatives to become inspired by Emmy winners, San Diego Music Award recipients, Broadway dancers, and other talented professionals that came from the very communities where these youth reside. Click here for a recap of Sound Future year one and Sound Future Vol. 2.

This year, we have added more panels and will conduct more workshops that will show people that they can follow their heart by following their art! We are beginning with the first in a series of workshops and panel discussions on February 23rd at ARTS in National City. We'll be starting with event planning. Check out the details below.
